Ispitivanje prije putovanja omogućava putnicima da izbjegnu obveznu 14-dnevnu karantenu ako su testirani najkasnije 72 sata prije dolaska leta testom pojačanja nukleinske kiseline (NAAT) odobrenim od strane FDA, izvedenim pomoću brisa nosa i mogu pokazati dokaz negativnih rezultata ispitivanja iz CLIA certificiranog laboratorija. Putnicima će se također kontrolirati temperature po dolasku i moraju ispuniti putni i zdravstveni obrazac. Po dolasku na Hawai'i, putnici koji ne mogu pružiti dokaz o odobrenom negativnom testu morat će ući u karantenu na 14 dana ili dok ne dostave dokaz o negativnim rezultatima testa
